I’d Love Your Help!

In this non-nail-related post, I’m requesting your help with a little photo contest that my workplace is holding :) Each department in the office was given the task of putting together a holiday-themed photo, which was shot in our production studio. My department (social) put together a photo that we felt brought back the childhood memories of opening presents, and that ecstatic feeling you got after realizing that you got exactly what you hoped for:

This contest involves us garnering the most likes on our photo on our company’s Facebook page– the department with the most likes on its photo by New Year’s Day will receive a special holiday treat! And as our department deals with social media for clients, I couldn’t bear to lose a contest that involves garnering engagement on a Facebook post.

Please help me out by clicking here and hitting that like button, and maybe even go the extra mile and encourage your friends to do the same. With my career path, it’s important for me to prove the power of social media and word-of-mouth tactics, so I would really appreciate your support <3 Thank you in advance! xx

Quickie Post: Pre-Holiday Celebration

Well…it’s been time for awhile, but between graduation preparations and the first week of work, I’ve been slacking just a little on the holiday stuffs. Luckily, I had a good excuse to change up the green and gold nail colors from graduation festivities, as my office is holding a holiday-themed photo contest between our various departments.

We had our shoot on Wednesday and to go along with our holiday-themed idea, I opted for a simple red mani, pairing one coat of NYC’s Chelsea with a single coat of Love & Beauty’s Burgundy. The result was a shimmery, perfect red :)

Each department’s photo was revealed today at our office holiday party– I absolutely LOVE how ours turned out! I’m not going to show you yet, because the contest doesn’t start until next week, but here’s a hint: think of that feeling you got when you were a child upon opening presents. Our mission is to get the most “likes” on our photo via Facebook, so once the contest starts, I’ll post a link and beg ask you to vote for ours :D

Until then! xoxo

Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! This week, I of course had to commemorate the day of celebrating love, falling in love, and appreciating our independence from love by incorporating glitter, pinks, hearts and smooches into my fun nails:

Manicure Monday: New for the New Year

When the concept of caviar nails first trended, I have to admit: I was less than thrilled. Since I consider my style a little more elegant and subtle, I had a hard time understanding the concept of flashy, textured or 3D nail designs.

But I made the resolution of actually trying new things out before judging them this year, and I’ve started off with a caviar accent nail, with the Ciate mini mani month set my fabulous boss got me for the holidays:

{Caviar Pearls in Prom Queen}

I’m still not the biggest fan, but I admit that it didn’t turn out as horribly as I thought it would. I think it adds a really nice touch to a mostly plain manicure, and I love the sparkly blue that was included in the set.

What do you think of caviar nails, and how do you think this design came out?

Cheers to a New Year!

It feels like it’s been some time, but I’m finally back from my winter wonderland vacation :) Had a fabulous seven days in Montana, spending quality time with A‘s family, taking in the sights and sounds of small-town Absarokee and learning to snowboard at Bridger Bowl.

It was such a great experience and I’m so happy that I got to finally spend a Christmas up north after 17 years of sunshine here in Florida!

But it’s back to the polish pad and musings on my 2013 resolutions:

Cheers to a New Year

This is a pretty simple New Year’s design with a Sephora by OPI base in I Only Shop Vintage, a combination of Shany stamps from plates SH07 and SH13, a coat of Trust Fund Baby by Spoiled and finally, my trusty Revlon ColorStay Top Coat.

What are your special resolutions for the New Year?

Have a happy New Year, everyone! xoxo

Christmas Sparkle

While creating my list of items to pack for the winter wonderland trip to Montana (yes, that is what I’m referring to it as now– hahah), I gave myself plenty of time to think about what I wanted to do with my nails. It needed to be perfect, since I’d be donning the design for a little over a week. I didn’t want anything too intricate, like most Christmas/winter-inspired designs, and I definitely didn’t want anything too crazy or flashy.

What I did want was some glitter, and splashes of the two colors that remind me most of the holidays: dark red & gold.

…And what I came up with, was this:

Christmas Sparkle

(Burgundy by Love & Beauty | Rage by Orly with a topcoat of I Have No Reception by Spoiled)

I am in love with the red, glitter-infused polish! My boyfriend was the one  who found the shade (Burgundy by Love & Beauty), while I was shopping  at Forever 21– I can’t get over how amazing it is. It’s by far the best glitter polish I’ve ever used, and it only takes two coats for the full-glitter effect, unlike most glitter polishes, where multiple thick coats are needed.

What do you think of this simple two-toned design?

I’ll be off the nail art radar for a little while, but I hope each and every one of you will have your nail art New Year’s resolutions by the time I get back ;)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! xo

Rudolph & Frosty

Getting into the second week of festive, holiday-inspired nails, I thought it’d be fun to incorporate some familiar faces into this week’s design:

Rudolph & Frosty

The base coats are Sephora by OPI’s I Only Shop Vintage (gold) and Wet ‘n Wild’s Private Viewing (nude). This is one of my very first freehand designs…which I have to say, I’m pretty proud of!

I’m slowly (but surely) getting into the Christmas spirit! All I need is a little snow & a winter wonderland in Big Sky, MT :) What’s on your nail polish wishlist this holiday?
